shruthi murali

Shruthi Murali (They/She) is a queer, neuroemergent author and play therapist to children and adults. Their writing is rooted in community, collective healing and dreaming of liberatory futures, unfettered by genre and form.

She is also a facilitator, social impact and strategy consultant, musician, dancer, and community builder. When not doing any of that, she spends her time exploring cities one neighborhood at a time, talking to their houseplants, and making excellent egg dosas.

They have published short fiction in Out of Sorts, an anthology of crip writing released in the UK by The Remote Body, In Queer Love from Daxayoni Publishing House, and Hammock Magazine, and poetry in Issue 3 of Kalavaram from Zinedabaad Collective. Their non-fiction has appeared in Outlook Magazine and The Quint. She is an awardee of the CREA Storytelling Initiative (2024) and is currently working on her debut speculative fiction novel.
