Give us stories that aren’t in a hurry to get somewhere, characters that we will begin to care for, scenes that quicken our hearts, writing that will pierce our consciousness. Blithe satire? Bring it on.

Insane detectives solving gory crimes? Yes, please!

We are here to facilitate the joy and fury that seep from the page to race in readers’ veins; narratives from people that live on the margins; quiet, everyday stories that ground readers in realities that might not match theirs.

Kanika Munot

kanika munot | co-founder

(she/they)

Over a decade of having edited at Siyahi, Roli Books, Tara Press/Red Ink Literary Agency, and Pan Macmillan India, Kanika has found that making books isn’t as glamorous as buying them or as dreamy as reading them. But this reality has only sucked her deeper into the industry.

Someday, Kanika will present her own angry prose to the world, but until then, her empathy for the writing process makes her beloved among her authors. And though she will read anything even remotely engaging, it wouldn’t be unfair to call her a literary snob. Do not try to seduce her with just clever turns of phrase; give her sincere, heartfelt stories and well researched non-fiction.

neerja pawar | Co-founder

(she/her)

With over half a decade of publishing experience and a debut romance novel she’s still editing in her mind, Neerja calls this industry her second home. Her tenures as editor at Wonder House Books, India’s foremost children’s books publisher, and RAAY Saga, India’s first digital publishing platform, cultivated her prowess in author relations, communication and collaboration—the pillars of a good publishing journey.

While she has experience editing a range of genres, her expertise lies in romance, comedy, drama, mystery and thriller; genres that elicit an emotional and physical response: of dread or delight.
